Cocktails are made by mixing different sorts of ingredients
together. On the top of my head, those ingredients are cream, juice, soft
drinks or any sort of alcoholic beverages. Cocktails can be prepared in
different ways by either using a shaker or directly in the glass. There can be
two types of cocktails, alcohol free
cocktails or the ones with alcohol. Let us look at a few types of cocktails
commonly made.
1) Collins: It is served with lemon, sugar, soda and loads of ice. Very refreshing, Collins is made using hard liquor and sometimes vodka, gin, whiskey, rum or tequila maybe added.
2) Cobblers: It is directly prepared in glass without using
a shaker. Alcohol content is quite low and most of the time it is served with
chopped fruit.
3) Coolers: These also have low alcohol content and use ice cubes. They are often decorated with
fruits and a large amount is drunk by many.
4) Egg nogs: fermented drink or spirit is the base and is
accompanied by milk, eggs and nutmeg. It is one of the few alcohols which can
be served warm.
5) Flips: These are creamy cocktails made using marsala, sugar, egg yolk, rum, sherry and are
usually topped by cinnamon or nutmeg.
6) Cups: These are cocktails
made using siders, wine and liquors. They are served with fresh
fruit cubes and are drunk in small cups.
